Hi Experts,

I'm an Indian citizen working in the US with a valid H1B visa. I have my test scheduled on Friday August 9th, I was trying to see what documents I require for the appointment. I was under the impression that my Driver's license should be sufficient. But after a little research today I found that I need my passport. Unfortunately I dont have my passport with me, I have applied for Canadian visa to attend a conference through my company and my passport is in the Canadian Consulate. THe porcessing time for the visa is 19 days and Im not sure when I will get my passport back.

In this case can I get an exemption - I have copies of my passport and other original documents (including my H1B reciept).

If passport is mandatory what are my options, I cannot reschedule my test since my test date is less than 7 days away. I'm really confused, I was hoping I can give the test this week. I prepared for 3 months and really cant believe that I wont be able to give it all becasue of this issue.

Looking forward to your expert advice.

-Thanks,
Siva

Hello, Siva. Unfortunately, we do require you bring your passport with you to the exam. We cannot accept copies, nor can we accept alternative ID's, unless you are a permanant resident, in which case we can also accept your permanent resident card. I do apologize for the inconvenience.

Hi Rebecca - thank you for the response. In that case can I get a consideration for rescheduling my GMAT exam without having to forfiet my entire 250 $.

I was hoping I will be atleast allowed to reschedule my exam if not allowed to write the exam.

Im sorry since you dint mention I assume that is not the case, but I had to ask the question again just to be sure.

What are my options here ? Really appreciate your time and advise.

-Thanks,
Siva

You can contact Pearson Vue to discuss the situtation. They can give you a better idea of your options. You can find the number for your region here: https://www.mba.com/service/contact-us.aspx

Good luck!
