Hi,
Just wondering that on Real Gmat Exam, the topic for AWA are only from the list given on the www.mba.com? or it could be any topic? Some of the practice exam have different topics which are not covered in the Gmat official list of AWA topics.

I don't think you'll see anything else. I took the test yesterday and got:
- for analysis of an argument, the paragraph about "Take Heart....", page 24
- for analysis of an issue, the paragraph about energy consumption, page 1

It says there that the "complete list of current AWA topics" is available for download. That "current" over there makes me think that the list may be updated from time to time.

The reason you see other topics in prep books is because the official topics are probably copyrighted material, as are all questions of other sections of the GMAT.

However, don't sweat about the AWA. It isn't really the scariest thing about the GMAT. It doesn't count when calculating your scores either.
