Need help interpreting my score!

by LV15 » Sat Jun 27, 2009 8:34 am
Took practice exam and got 39 on quant with 22 incorrect and a 34 on verbal with 12 incorrect. Overall 600. Is this possible? What does this mean? Another question, can I go back to double check scores after you've clicked "Next"?

It is possible. GMAT isn't scored based on % correct/incorrect, because it is computer adaptive - it keeps giving you harder problems until you get one wrong. Even high test scorers will get a significant proportion of their problems wrong. GMAT scores on an algorithm that only they have access to, though test prep companies try to replicate it as best they can.

As to whether you can go back and look at your scores -- was it a GMATPrep test? If so, no, unfortunately that's not built in to the software.

Thanks for the insight. I've read this before on other posts but wanted to make sure.
