Profile Evaluation

Hi Team,

Need your help in evaluating my profile for an ISB admit in 2014.

GMAT: 670

Acads:

X - 89%
XII - 89%
BE (Mech) - 74%

Work Ex : 20 months (TCS), 24 months (Auto Major - Sales and Marketing)

Extra curriculars
> Headed the college editorial board
> Kick started festivals in college
> Avid elocutionist, debater and quizzer with many accolades to prove the same
> Part of the CSI core committee in college
> Won university level business plan contests
> Toastmaster with credit to building a toastmaster club in previous organization
> Part of the CSR activities of the previous organization

This is a small snapshot of things I can build upon in my essays. Is there something that I ought to focus on. Looking for an R1 application.

Hi Harish,

You have an avg. GMAT score and profile. ECs look fine. What about your short/long term goals? With 3.5 yrs. of work experience, you are in an ideal phase of your career which most of the b-schools look for . By submitting strong application essays, you may target schools like: ISB. NUS, Indiana-Kelley, McDonough, Ohio-Fisher, Arizona-Carey, Georgia, Wisconsin-Madison, Vanderbilt, Texas-Mays, AIM-Manila and SMU-Singapore.

Hmmm, ISB is gonna be a bit of a stretch my friend, so I wouldn't rely on it, but you should for sure apply and with some awesome writing, who knows? But they do prefer higher GMATS, so if you think you can get a higher score, it may be worth it for you to retake, even if you need to subsequently delay your application by a round or year.
