Please advise my study plan

Hey all,

I am international student aiming for 600 on gmat and was thinking of jumping into the official guide, quant review, and verbal review without going into the study guide. FYI, I do have Manhattan sets but I have very limited time as I work almost 15 hours a day My questions are
1) Will the official guide sets be enough for me to get 600?
2) if I just keep doing the official guide and read the answer explanations, is it sufficient?
3) For Manhattan Sets, is the Math part 2 necessary? Since it said it is not for everyone?

My math skills are ok not superb but not that bad so will doing the official guide help?

My first test score was around 400

There is no question on whether the GMAC books can help you hit a 600+ score provided you go through them religiously. The key is not to just rely solely on reading them...put pen to paper, practice as many questions from as many question types as possible (although areas of weakness you identify will warrant extra attention).
Also, you absolutely MUST take some prep tests to get comfortable with the nature of the CAT, take at least the two free tests off mba.com (GMATprep) if you're really short on time (else, you can delve into MGMAT tests as well).

P.S: By Math part2 are you talking about the advanced Quant supplement?

Hi yenchanom,
of course the official guide is "enough" to hit a 600 (or even higher). The question is if this study method suits your style. For some people it is the right choice to study only with a book, some like a verbal presenter or a video course. Many people lern best by practicing as many questions as possible, this will only be possible with a book to a certain extent. Also it depends on your basis. Do you have good basic math knowledge etc? This will save you a lot of time and maybe in this case a book will be enough.
