Dear Pallavi:

Your need for scholarship funds will generally not affect whether or not you are admitted to a program. Admission decisions are usually independent of scholarship decisions at most schools. However, there is no guarantee that won't enter into the decision, and it is possible some schools might factor that into the admissions decison, especially in the last round when seats to offer are of a very low number. It is always best to apply by the second round for the best chance at scholarship funds.

Best of luck!
Lisa
