Lopsided Score!

by Chaser » Wed Oct 24, 2012 1:07 pm
Hello everyone - first post here after reading for a while.

I took the GMAT for the first time two weeks ago and received a very lopsided score.

Verbal - 41
Math - 25
AWA - 5.5

I knew these were my strengths going in and focused my studying on Math, but it really didn't pan out like I was expecting.

What are your recommendations to cleaning up my Math scores? I don't want to spin my wheels by just cranking out problems without a sound strategy. Thoughts?

Thanks!

I agree with Jim.

Focusing on one topic at a time will help you master all of the GMAT-specific strategies required for that topic. Also, immersing yourself in practice questions related to one topic will help you see a variety of ways the GMAT can test that one topic.

I should add that BTG's free Study Guide (https://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/gmat-guide) is arranged such that each prep day is devoted to one topic.

Cheers,
Brent
