Help on Verbal

by anchit » Wed Jun 09, 2010 11:14 am
I have been preparing for GMAT for about 2 months now and plan to take the test sometime in july (2nd or 3rd week). The first time i took the Prep GMAT was at the start of my preparation when i managed a 600. 2 months into the preparation, i did see some improvement (managed a 640) however it was not upto my expectations. i got a 49 in QA and a 30 in VA.

I have taken other tests and have constantly been missing out (getting them wrong, not leaving them unattempted, time's not a problem) on 10-13 questions. Most of them are either RC or CR.

what strategy should i be following for the next month and a half.

PS: I manage to complete my section in about 67-68 mins... Target Score : anything that beats a 700...

What material have u used to prepare for verbal

Here is what helped me
I used CR power score bible and for SC i used MGMAT

Ron from Manhattan says that when we do practice we should never spend more than 2 mins or the allotted time for each qns that way u learn to attack the qns in the given time and wont come up with solutions that eat up ur time.
But when reviewing spend as much time as u want and learn.

OG is the best source to learn verbal

Try each qns and read the reviews behind to such an extent that u should know every thing inside out .
Its best to learn the logic behind those qns like the way the test makers see it.
