I took my first official test one month ago and my score is
AWA 5.5, Maths 51, Verval 25. (640)

I experienced the serous problem that too much time was spent over RC part as 2 long passages & 2 short passages were given.
Before that I tried the GMATPrep twice and scored at 710 & 720.
And I still remember half of the questions were rushed to finish as more than 40' was spent on the first 20 questions.

Once the remaining time was short I started to rush and the overall result became a disaster.
I have tested separately with Reading part and I could score well as long as I have enough time.

Could you please suggest what could I do to solve this problem?
Generally I need to spend around 2 mins on short passages and nearly 3 mins on long passages. Do I take too much time reading the questions?

Please help me overcome this problem as I feel I may have the similar results if I don't solve this problem.

I don't think you're taking too long to comprehend the passage. The key is how long are you taking to solve the accompanying questions? Remember, you have around 1:45 to solve each verbal problem. If you take 3:00 minutes to comprehend a passage, that leaves 2:15 to answer 3 accompanying questions. That means you CAN NOT take as long to answer a RC questions as you can a CR or even a SC question.

HOWEVER, the good news is that if you comprehended the passage, most RC questions can easily be answered within 45 seconds. The question is whether you are fully comprehending what each answer choice means, a problem I could see for non-native English speakers. In THAT case, it may be good to work through a bunch of RC OG passages. After each passage, given the OG's explanations, you can analyze why each answer choice was right or wrong, and build a deeper understanding of how to prove an answer choice is right or wrong.

Good luck!
