List X contains 8 integers. Is the standard deviation of the integers in list X equal to zero?

(1) The range of the integers in list X is 3.

(2) The average (arithmetic mean) of the integers in list X is 5.

CONCEPT : STANDARD DEVIATION IS ZERO WHEN ALL TERMS IN THE SET ARE EQUAL

Statement 1) Range is 3 means the terms have some deviation and they are not equal therefore standard deviation is not Zero
Sufficient

Statement 2) The average (arithmetic mean) of the integers in list X is 5.
Then all elements of set may be equal to 5 [Standard deviation = 0]
OR
All elements of set may be {3, 4, 5} [Standard deviation Not equal to 0]
Not Sufficient

Answer: Option A
