inference and supporting ideas ..comprehension

i am facing a ploblem in supporting ideas and inference questions..please help.Like the passage on page 48 of the GMAT verbal review...I have found that the main problem i face is to comprehend the passage..i have to read the same line 3-4 times to get the meaning..please suggest me how to increase my comprehension and reading speed ..I have tried all the methods of this site..pls help
