Looking for a SIGNIFICANT increase!

by nadontheway » Thu Feb 28, 2008 3:37 pm
Hi everyone,

I started again my prep 2 days ago after I took the gmat for the first time and got a poor 470...But I am still motivated to crack it!!
I am looking for advice on the time I will need to increase my previous score by 200 points. I know it's tremendous. But well, I've heard that with hard work everyone can do it (even non native english-speaker).
Do you think a period of 2 months (studying 8 hours a day) will be sufficient? I studied a few weeks to get 470.... I decided to continue to study on my own. But now I have all the most important and recognized gmat books and I will start doing much more practice tests.
Thx for your thoughts!

Studying will be my only activity for the next two months. I will not be working at the same time.

Any advice then??

I still wouldn't study eight hours a day. You will burn out on that much, really. Don't do more than five hours, even. Broken up between morning and afternoon.

What about taking a prep course?

I would not recommend 8 hours of studying per day. You will certainly get burnt out!

Remember, it's not quantity of prep but quality of prep. Approaching your prep with a smart strategy is always the best way to go.
