It's important to note that your GMATPrep and PowerPrep scores were very similar. Since both of these tests use official GMAT questions this is not surprising.

Keep in mind that the official GMAT practice tests have A LOT of data backing them up. It's conceivable that each question in the GMATPrep and PowerPrep has been asked tens of thousands of times under strict testing conditions. So, these practice test should be able to give you a good indication of your abilities.

All other tests do not share the same level of data, and these tests are typically not taken under the rigorous testing conditions (some students take these practice tests throughout their prep and since the tests are taken at home, students may not devote the same level of attention to each question).

So, while it's useful to take lots of 3rd-party practice tests, don't get overly concerned if one of them gives you a score that appears to be an anomaly.

Cheers,
Brent

A bit more information will be useful.
How many days of effort have you put? When is your GMAT? How confident are you in the material you have gone through?

If I need to shoot in the dark, I would recommend that you use up another GMAT prep and take the MGMAT free test (you can take it by logging into their website).
A weighted average (70:30) of the 2 scores is representative of your current level.

Cheers!

Thanks a lot brent for your insight...i am posting the further breakdown of my verbal score :

gmat prep verbal score -31

q.type Total correct incorrect
S.C 17 6 11
r.c 13 12 1
c.r 10 6 4

powerprep verbal score -32

q.type total correct incorrect
S.C 12 9 3
r.c 10 5 5
C.R 8 6 2

Now as you can see the variation in both these tests in verbal id big in gmat prep if i am getting less than half of s.c correct in power prep if approx 75 % correct ,what should i do to get a fair idea of my verbal ..i feel that i am good in R.C ,S.c used to be my weak point but i have worked on it as well.but i am not getting the kind of result i am looking for that is 700 +

Please guide me

Yes, there's certainly a lot of variation there.
When working on your verbal skills, it's really important to analyze your weaknesses. For example with the SC questions you answered incorrectly, were there any patterns? For example, do you typically struggle with comparison questions, or idioms, or tense question?
The same goes for CR questions. Can you identify question types where you struggle?

If you can identify problem areas, you can work to strengthen them AND you can begin to recognize traps that you typically fall for.

Cheers,
Brent

You've come to the right place :-) (BTG that is)

There is no shortage of idiom lists out there. You can start with this post: https://www.beatthegmat.com/comprehensiv ... 39752.html

For help with tense, search "tense" on BTG, and you'll find TONS of great articles and threads.

Cheers,
Brent

LOL yeah...It's pretty comprehensive...
I liked the treatment of idioms in SC Grail. About 200 commonly appearing idioms - along with examples of correct and incorrect usage! 'nuff said!
