Need something reassuring! DDay in 2 days!

by 4meonly » Fri Dec 05, 2008 5:00 am
I never thought that I will be so nervous with my GMAT.
Although I am confident with every type of questions and problems I still cannot be calm. I spend 6 months for preparation with 2-3 hours every day and 5-6 hours every weekend. It will be disaster to understand that this long way was senseless. :)
My GMATPrep scores do not indicate me that I am not ready... But still…
30.11.2008: GMATPrep1 - 730 (Q51/V36)
01.12.2008: GMATPrep1 retake - 750 (Q50/V41)
03.12.2008: GMATPrep1 retake - 780 (Q51/V47)
05.12.2008: GMATPrep2 - 750 (Q51/V41)

Guys, say something reassuring!
I am Russian biologist without any experience in English-speaking companies. My last English and Math lessons were at school 10 years ago. GMAT made me crazy

If you were my buddy, I would beat the shit out of you! Seriously!! :D

Oh so you are Russian and I am sure your nickname has something to do with Drago in Rocky IV:

Drago: I win for me! FOR ME!

He has another line in that movie, and I am sure you will like it:

Drago: I must break you.

Good luck in your test, I think you will be alright..GO AND BREAK IT DRAGO!! :D

4meonly,
I have seem some of your solution posts and they are good.
You have done all the hardwork u possibly can and I am sure u will do well on the GMAT.

The last thing u want to do is doubt urself or be nervous(not saying u r in any way).

Keep up your confidence and this almost always means +some points on the GMATsince u will be able to think clearly.

I read this in one of the posts:

Attack the GMAT with an uncluttered/free mind(if u start seeing some easy questiosn dont think u r doing bad or anything like that-- "Easy" is somehting very subjective; what's easy for me may not be easy for u and vice versa)

Give your 100% on every question (For quant if possible try not spending more than 3 minutes on hard(depends on the individual) questions and 2-2.5 minutes for medium hard questions just so u can finish 37 on time). If u go over I am sure u will be able to make up with easier questions. Just a guideline and again this depends on the individual. I think for Verbal its about a minute and a half but again try to balance the overall timing by looking at it as 5 questions, next 5 questions etc....

Looking forward to seeing ur "I just beat the gmat" debrief! Its only a test so dont sweat too much. Be confident u will do good!

Regards,
Cramya
