Just wanted to share some thoguhts on my experience so far. I am 5 weeks into hard core studying although the first 10 days were a little mild especially realtive to my past 3 weeks.
I have taken 6 MGMAT practice tests so far and the dramatic improvement occurred after I started doing the problems in the quant and verbal books. My baseline was 620 and Im at 690 now(Im hoping I can improve and these are somewhat close to accurate-yes Im familiar with the std deviation of the tests) I begin all the RC, SC and Quant in the OG 11 tomorrow. I know the MGMAT math is considerd to be more difficult than the "real thing" but practice realretired questions has been great and improved my score on the MGMAT practice. I have two gmatprep tests to take possibly I will try to reload and take up to four as I have seen suggested. I think the beauty of the OG practice is it gets you in the mind frame of how the questions are asked. Frankly I cant imagine preparing for this test without the OG. 20 days left to go until my first exam, I plan on taking 2 with a third as a fail safe or a give up because it aint getting better.
Although I havent taken the real thing I would definitely say to anyone it is more than possible to improve and do well. The key is practice, and I especially like the idea of marking the incorrect answers and than going back and making sure you know how to do them wihtout just looking at the ansewr explanation and moving on.
So I have 600+ questions I plan on crushing for the next 20 days and two practice tests, and I bought Kaplan 800 I heard good things.
I want to thank eric for the website, and the flashcards they are invaluable. I might also suggest making your own flashcards and saving spare cards to write down tidbits as you come across them. I keep an empty stack of 3X5's on my desk that are cut in half and have a hole punched through them so they fit on a clip ring and I just flip through them whenever Im on the subway or the bus. i work 70+ hours a week so if I can get it done so can you, although I cant compete with those that have kids in the time crunch category.
And when ever I get down or lose steam as I feel right now I log on and read peoples success stories, they mean alot to me. I hope that I can be an inspiration to someone soon. Oh yeah, dont underestimate the power of sleep, excercise and clear thought.
