Unfortunately, I did not beat the GMAT... it beat me (this time).

I'm applying to a real estate program that requires either the gmat or the gre. I took the GRE this summer and scored fine, but I got the idea in my head to take the GMAT too, to broaden my application options in case I did well. I took it on Sat. and had a total collapse on the quant.... ended up getting a 620, but that is factoring in that I got a 95% on verbal. You do the math (I certainly cannot).

Anyway, I am SERIOUSLY regretting sending in my GMAT score to this program. Does anyone know how the logistics work? Does the GMAT score database somehow check against every applicant and supply a score for every applicant to that school in their database? Or, does the score report service only kick in if you reference the score on your application, acting as a verification? If I sent my score to the school, how is the school notified?

Here's my story, maybe it helps. I want to take the GMAT this spring (April? May?) and to apply for CBS this fall/winter (for the 2010 entering class). So I emailed the guys over there: if I put CBS on the list of schools to receive my scores, will they somehow store my scores until my full application comes in or will it be lost? Their reply was: it doesn't matter. They ask candidates to self report GMAT results and ONLY AFTER they get accepted does the score get officially checked.

BUT do not take this as a general rule, from what I understand schools might have completely different systems. If I were you, I'd just send an email and follow their instructions.

I am inyour situation....Try the GMATclub tests at gmatclub.com. I got their ecommendation from here. They have helped me greatly and cost 79$. Are you applying to Clemson, Columbia, etc.? I am thinking of doing the same.
