I am 25 y/o applying for 2010 admissions looking for an honest profile evaluation. My backround is as follows
Graduated from West Virginia University, BS in Business Admin. Overall gpa low 3.08 , Major GPA 3.48 (1st year of college hurt my gpa).
Delta sigma PI business frat social chairman
6 months studying abroad in Australia, spent time in Bangkok, Phucket, Fiji, New Zealand, and basically traveled the whole east coast of Australia.
Gmat: 650 (q42 v 37)
E.C. WVU alumni association community service chair, won awards for outstanding alumni chapter.
Experience:
1.5 years at a wholesale lender, booking loans for Goldman Sachs, Promoted to regional sales manager after 6 months, company went out of business after 1.5 yrs
Did 6 months project management at small company while I re-evaluated my work situation.
1.5 years Structured Finance analyst at top 6 US Bank. Oversee 5 billion in assets for multiple portfolios.
I plan to apply to the following schools in preferred order: Duke, Darden, UNC Chapel Hill, Emory, UT Austin, Georgetown, Wake Forest.
I am also deciding whether to hire an admission consultant, or to retake the gmat (or both). I am leaning towards putting together a strong app with my current profile and an admission consultant, I think my strength would be the interview (if I was given one).
