summer schools?

by DanaJ » Fri Jan 23, 2009 12:38 pm
Hey guys,

I'm currently thinking of attending a summer school for business/leadership/international studies. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please don't say Stanford or Penn, I cannot afford to pay $10000 for four weeks' worth of tuition... To be honest, I'd actually prefer some info about summer schools that offer scholarships, since funding is tight for me right now...
If anyone has any idea, please answer... My main criteria are:
- scholarships (you greedy Penn, you!)
- US only (I'd really like to visit some of my friends over there...)
- accepts undergrads in second year of study

I'll trade ya for a tip: great summer schools in Prague/Greece generously funded:

You'll hate my answer, but I did attend Stanford's Summer Institute as an undergraduate and it was really good. I think they have financial aid available too...

I'm not sure I qualify for those guys... But hey, I've sent them an email and we'll see... I'm pretty confident that I could obtain a scholarship (4.0 GPA, fluently speaking 3 languages and Spanish conversationally, some work experience, been to the US for three months etc.... etc....), but I'm not sure they will be willing to consider me, since they require three years of college. I'm currently in my second year of college out of a maximum of three here in the EU (given the provisions of the Bologna system, recently - 2 years ago - implemented over here).
If they say Yes, I'll be flying over there!

Gotcha. Sounds like you are definitely capable, hopefully they are not too strict about the year in school requirement!

Good luck!
