Hi All,

So you mean we need not to consider case when "case a: x > -1 " because it is given that x < -5

Am I right?

Hi Brent,

Had a query relative to your answer..

when we try to solve the equation: 4 < (7-x)/3; wouldn't multiplying both the sides by 3 reverse the inequality sign?

This would typically look like: 12 > (7-x).

Please help...

Hi,
the sign gets reversed only when you multiply both sides by a negative integer/-ive fraction etc, and not by a positive number..
