I did it via POE:

a. featuring a recognizable country group typically attracts a crowd much larger in the southern United States than it does in
---> "a crowd much larger" (wrong construction) + ...attracts .....it does..(missing future tense)

b. featuring a recognizable country group will typically attract a much larger crowd if it occurs in the southern United States
instead of
-----> "if it occurs" ( as if concert were a phenomenon.. wrong) + "if" is not generally preferred in this form ( if ...then ) "than" should preferred for comparisons.

c. will typically attract a crowd much larger in the southern United States than one featuring a recognizable country group in
----> "a crowd much larger" (wrong construction) is a problem + the same "country group" should perform at both the places. This choice mentions a recognizable country group performing in only north (meaning is slightly changed for the comparison is valid only when the same ( or a recognizable) group performs at both the places.

d. that is performed in the southern United States will typically attract much larger a crowd than if it occurred featuring the same country group in
-----> incorrect use of tenses ( .... performed... will ) + "much larger a crowd" (awkward construction) + "if... occurred" (wrong) JUNK option

e. in the southern United States will typically attract a much larger crowd than will a concert featuring the same country group performed in
----> Everything in place.

I think the biggest issue with A is its use of "crowd much larger". You will notice the same problem persists in C as well. This leaves B, D and E
B: Parallelism issue
D: Parallelism issue
E: correct answer :)
