E gets the parallelism perfect. either from x or from y.

Also, other options have images of Hindu dieties ... fashioned ...,which gives wrong meaning. We should have images were fashioned from...

In D we are comparing "fashioned from the spotted sandstone of Mathura" with "from Gandharan grey schist". Not parallel.

And i said earlier, "images of Hindu deities... fashioned from" is awkward.
