The numbers {1, 3, 6, 7, 7, 7} are used to form three 2-digit numbers. If the sum of these three numbers is a prime number p, what is the largest possible value of p?

We can get largest by having "7" in the Tens digit. So, 71 & 73 are two possible combinations
==> 71 + 73 + 67 == > 211

Hi rakeshd347,

Sometimes the answer choices are designed in such a way so that you can eliminate some of them (if you're paying attention to what is asked).

In this case, we're told that sum of the 3 numbers has to be PRIME.

If necessary, you can eliminate...

E. 219, which is divisible by 3
C. 209, which is divisible by 11

With those options eliminated, it might be easier to discover the correct answer.
