Leo can buy a certain computer for p1 dollars in State
A, where the sales tax is t1 , or he can buy the
same computer for p2 dollars in State B, where the
sales tax is t2 . Is the total cost of the
computer greater in State A than in State B ?
(1) t1 > t2
(2) p1t1 > p2t2

PS. This question has few modifications compared to the one in OG 12. So you have to solve there is no OA.

The difference between the price in the two states is because of the tax only. So, if t1 > t2, p1 has to be greater than p2.
Hence, A alone is enough.

hi,

How can we come to a conclusion than the difference between the price in the two states is because of the tax only? The price and the tax rate for two states is not known.

Since, None of the Options talk about the value of t1, t2 and p1t1 and p2t2 it is tough to determine.

Option (E) would be the right answer.
