1 month plan needed

I had 2 months of vacations.I bought gmat manhattan guides and the official guide set.I started with the sentence correction of manhattan,but many people tell me that remembering grammar rule does not help on the day of the exam.There is no time there to recollect the rules and answer.I did the first 3 guides for maths and solved the official questions.Now I have just 1 month of holidays and i can devote my whole day for gmat.please give me a study plan i can strictly follow
I need a 700+ score,I am not giving the practice test because unlike most people I panic a lot and stop studying if i don't score good enough in the practice test.I want to finish the portion once before writing the first test.But i am feeling very less motivated and thats the reason why i have completed so less in the month of july
I joined a coaching institute too but the teachers were terrible and i got more angry when I felt they were not teaching everything. I am kind of getting depressed now.I usually top in ma university and i know if I start seriously i can ace in the test but still I am lacking a plan.

Hi viny,

Before you make any adjustments to your plan, you MUST take a practice test. That experience will help you to discover your weak spots (content and/or pacing). You should also plan to take 1 practice CAT per week with the time that you have left. The bulk of your time will be spent studying and trying to improve on any "weak" areas, but we need to know what those areas are before anyone can provide any useful advice.

I agree wholeheartedly with Rich. Take a practice test.

An excerpt: Unless you have a remarkable history of mastering every activity (skiing, tennis, golf, guitar, piano, etc.) on your first attempt, you're probably familiar with the less-than-perfect outcomes that most mortals experience at the beginning of ANY new endeavor. The GMAT is no different.

Bottom line: Rich and I are ordering you to take a practice test :-)

thanks for the motivation sir,
i started a kaplan practice test yesterday and stopped after the IR section as i completed only 4 questions out of 12 and that freaked me out :'(
moving to the quant part i got stuck in the 10th question and got so scared i left that too.
Gmat is kind of scaring me off though i have done good maths and english for so many years.
Guess i will get gather confidence and start.

Hey Viny,

Many GMAT students "screw up" their first few CATs. It's okay - that's why they're practice CATs, but you MUST go through the experience so you can learn to get past the "hurdles" that the test will throw at you. Fear is NOT an option. If you're stuck, then you have to learn how to get unstuck (and/or learn to guess and move on). These skills take practice to develop. Plan on taking a full CAT this weekend and force yourself to get through the entire Test. Your improvement can start once you know all of the things that you need to improve.

I work for a competing company, so I can't offer much opinion on a set of guides. I can say that the GMAC Official Guide is a great book for practice problems and that if you're on a specific timeline, the EMPOWERgmat course can probably fit your needs.
