New GMATPrep v2.2.317 with exam pack fix

by mevicks » Tue Oct 22, 2013 6:38 pm
Hi all,

GMAC has released an update to fix the issues related to Exam Pack 1. Users of v2.2.315 or lower who have purchased the exam pack can now download this fix from their website (if you have not purchased exam pack you can defer the decision until you buy the pack).

Here is the mail excerpt containing the details of the changes & update method:
Dear Vivek:

It has come to our attention that a bug in the current GMATPrep® software v2.2.315 is causing some Exam Pack 1 test results to disappear. The bug has been fixed and a new version of the software v2.2.317 is available for download at www.mba.com/gmatprep.

We apologize for this error on our part.

Upgrading your current version is easy: simply download and install the new GMATPrep file over your current application (you do not need to uninstall the old version). You will not lose any information relating to your history to date and any installed Question and/or Exam Packs will continue to be active.

To retrieve lost exam results from version 2.2.315, click "Review your practice exam scores" from the home screen.

Thank you for downloading GMATPrep and taking your first step towards graduate management education success.

Graduate Management Admission Council® (GMAC®)
Additionally, I'll update the changelog thread with the exact changes later...

Thanks for sharing.

Do you have any info on people *mysteriously* getting extra questions on the Gmatprep question pack?
A good question also deserves a Thanks.

Achilles: That's why no-one will remember your name.

Hi faraz,

It would be best to mail the gmat prep team directly and hope for a response from them. Having said that, I did see a post by gmathopeful25 yesterday which states that the issue has been fixed in the latest v317 (his first post shows a v306 screenshot)
I just wanted to let everyone know that after I restarted the software it went back to the normal amount of questions. You can see the new screen shot. It might have been some sort of one day glitch in the software. I don't know what else it would be.
GMAT PREP NEW QUESTIONS

You might try updating the software to the latest version and see if this solves the problem BUT please proceed at your own risk :P

I actually did post in the Ask the test maker forum. No reply yet.

What really upset me was that I saw new questions on the forums with GMATprep screen shots that were not in the packs I purchased! Cant believe GMAC could botch their core product.

Try the upgrade and check for yourself if the problem has been fixed or not. If not then mail them on this id: [email protected]

Umm, I think its in the nature of the product to be adaptive thus everyone might not see the same set of questions in the exam pack. Non adaptive ones might be more common on the forums... Just my 2 cents... :)
