Hi,
I've just recently begun studying for GMAT. Before studying for anything, I took the paper based diagnostic test from Kaplan and scored 620 (Q:41 and V:34).
Anyways, after studying for about two weeks, I decided to do a PowerPrep CAT (older version of GMATPrep) and scored 690 (Q:46 and V:38). I felt like I really had to rush the last 15 or so questions in the verbal section because I had spent too much time doing the first 25. My main weakness was sentence correction - I simply had no idea what the hell was right or wrong. So today, I took the second PowerPrep CAT and scored 720 (Q:48 and V:41). Although I am happy with seeing this kind of score, I felt like I was rushing the verbal section even more than I did in my first attempt. I remember having only 6 minutes to do the last 5 questions... On the other hand, I did get 4 RC passages in both the exams which took me quite a while to read.
So my question is, how should I deal with my timing issue? I noticed that I am spending lots of time on SC questions because I do not know the answer half the time - I don't like guessing and I try to re-read the whole sentence with each of the answer choice which takes forever. I also take quite a while to absorb all of RC passage and this becomes more problematic if I get 4 RC passages as opposed to 3. I bought MGMAT SC correction guide which I will do but other than that, what do you suggest that I do to improve my timing?
