Doubt on OG

Hi all

I have a set of questions from a xerox version of the OG (think it is the 11th) - i could only see answers given in the last page - couldnt find the explanatory ones. Does this book give explanations at all?

Also please let me know in which order these books (Kaplan w/CD book, Kaplan Math Workbook, Princeton and OG) should be solved.

Math is the biggest hurdle of all...revisiting a troubled childhood as a younger Math student!

OG does give explanations...there is a list of correct answers and following that there are explanations for each question in that section.

Can't comment on Kaplan or Princeton...OG is the best source for GMAT questions of any type IMO...you can't do better than the test writers

The OG does give explanations.... usually poor ones. I think you may even be better off without them, since the explanations in the OG are often NOT the best way to solve a problem.

A great way for you to study would be to write your own explanations, in a way that makes sense to you, rather than relying on what the OG (often incorrectly) tells you to do.

Are there resources out there that give better explanations on the OG guides?

I've never seen a collection of "better" OG explanations in print. Maybe we have a new product idea

Really though, my best learning took place while going through the OG making my own explanations, and I recommend that all my students do the same. You don't learn as much if someone just tells you what the answer is - you have to struggle through it yourself.

gmathacks.com has a "Guide to the Official Guide" with explanations to all the OG questions. I haven't used it but a friend of mine says he likes it a lot.
