A certain farmer pays $30 per acre per month to rent farmland. How much does the farmer pay per month to rent a rectangular plot of farmland that is 360 feet by 605 feet? (3,560 square feet = 1 acre)

A. $5,330
B. $3,360
C. $1,350
D. $360
E. $150

It says problematic - do not calculate only know the method! - i believe that!!

It should be [(360*605)/3560]*30
None of the ans choices seem to be close though!

i agree...i couldn't find the answer in the choices...
but it said 'know the method do not calculate' i wondered if there was something that i missed here...
...well maybe it said problematic because they knew the answer wasn't in the choices!!
btw here's where the quest. came from - Set11

Hmmm...

I would approach it by setting up the equation, which would be

(360 * 605 / 3560) * 30

Then approximate
3560 ~= 3600
605 ~= 600

(360 * 600 / 3600) * 30
(600 / 10) * 30
60 * 30
1800

Which is about (c). I agree though none of the answer choices are that close. I think that PR might be putting non exact answers as the choices to show that you don't have to have the exact answer.
