Dear all,

I have been planing to take GMAT from a quite a long time. Now that I have finally started working towards my goal, and started the preparation I am having many troubles.

I have reviewed the strategies for each question type in both verbal and quant, brushed up my quant skills but i am unable to get my strike rate to 100 percent.

I want every question I attempt in practice to be answered correctly. Is this the right way of approaching it. I have completed around 3 books(NOVA's GMAT, Baron's GMAT, Kaplan Workbook) for Quant and GMAT official guide for verbal.

But the strike rate for me is:

QUANT:
Data Sufficiency: around 60%
Problem Solving: around 80%

VERBAL:
Sentence Correction: around 70%
Critical Reasoning: around 50%
Reading Comprehension: around 40%.

I am having a lot of difficulties in RC and CR. I think that practice should increase my efficiency, but it is not the case. Is there something wrong with me? This efficiency is creating doubts in my mind if i am capable enough for the exam. Please help me. I am getting demotivated day by day. :(

And roughly how good a strike rate I need in each section to get a score in 720+ range?

Please help. :(

Hi Aj,

The practice won't be fruitful if you keep on repeating your mistakes. My advice is if you have done a mistake or answered the question incorrectly try to find what went wrong, why you choose this answer, make notw of that mistake, why the correct answer is correct and why you've left out the correct answer. Once you've imbibe all these things, try not to repeat same mistakes again.

one more thing if you are doing mistake because of time issue then stop doing questions in time frame; just concentrate on solving the question correctly. the speed will come automatically when you have good grasp of the concept.

hope this helps.
I'm no expert, just trying to work on my skills. If I've made any mistakes please bear with me.
