If you arrange all the sales in increasing order, and get the median
190 (Cal) ,210,360,450 (Ann),680
Current median value (without error correction ) = 360.
After correction, median changed to 330. It means either Ann's sales or Cal's sales changed to 330, since we are correcting only those.
So, take 2 cases:
Case 1 )
If Cal's sales increased to 330 .
error = 330 - 190 = 140.
Since Cal's sales increased, Ann's sales should decrease
Hence, Ann's sales = 450 - 140 = 310
But Question says, Ann's sales still remained higher than Cal's sales, so Case 2 should be the answer.
Case 2)
Ann's sales decreased to 330.
error = 450 - 330 = 120
Cal's sales increased by 120
Cals sales = 190 + 120 = 310
Questions says Ann's sales still remained higher. This condition is satisfied.
Hence answer is 120k.
Whats the OA?
medians and stuff
