The question doesn't make any sense.
It think it should be as follows...

For 500 boxes, we need 12*3 = 36 worker-hours
For 300 boxes, we'll need (36/500)*300 = 3*36/5 worker=hours = (16 workers)*(3*36/5*16 hours)

3*36/5*16 hours = 3*36*60/5*16 minutes = 3*9*3 minutes = 81 minutes

The correct answer is C.

Use the following proportion:
(workers)(time) / work = (workers)(time) / work

(12)(3) / 500 = (16)(x) / 300

36/500 = (16x)/300

8000x = 10800

80x = 108

x = 108/80 = 27/20 hours.

Since each hour is composed of 60 minutes, the number of minutes = (27/20)(60) = 81 minutes.

The correct answer is C.
