is the answer C???

originally....

66.66 X 0.33$ = 22 $
33.33 X 0.24 = 8$

Total 30

new blend

33.33 X 0.33 = 11$
66.66 X 0.24 = 16$

Total 27$

Therefore would save a total of 3$...

hence c

The question as is the answer would be 1.50 dollars.

If the question was 1 part of 33 and 2 parts 24 then the answer would be 3.

Please check the question after posting to ensure its correctness.

Regards,
CR

I am getting something that is not part of the answer choices..

1. The ratio is of 2:1

so,

(2/3)*100*(33/100) + (1/3)*100*(24/100) = 30 -------------- (1)

2. ratio is 1:1

(1/2)*100*(33/100) + (1/2)*100*(24/100) = 57/2 ---------- (2)

(1) - (2) = 3/2 = 1.5

Trust me we all do it no matter how many probs we solve :D

Don't worry u will do fine. Keep up ur confidence.

DOUBLE CHECK THE ANSWER TO ENSURE WE HAVE ANSWERED WHAT THE PROBLEM IS ASKING FOR is another big takeaway for all problems in addition to noting down correctly what's given especially on the GMAT as it tends to trick us that way....

Good luck!

well actually I got that answer too & I thought I didn't get the question right. That's why I've posted the problem....may be a printing mistake.

Anyway I'm really sorry for the inconvenience
