Hi Experts,

Top Indian newspapers and News channels have published a news on me and it contains a story that I am highlighting on application.

Can I add those links and tell - this is my story.

If so, should I retell the story mentioned in the website?

Thanks,
Saai

Well you can;t really expect them to go and click on a link (highly unlikely) but what you CAN do is send them a hard copy of the most impressive newspaper article( asking kindly for it to be included in your application. A FAR better idea!

Hi Saai,

Our friend here is right.. Do not waste precious essay words on posting links. You can include those links in your resume. Also an enclosure of the most impressive story wouldn't hurt. What I'd also suggest is, instead of focusing on the newspaper cutting, focus on the story itself. Write about what you did that made the newspapers mention you. The newspaper coverage was the result of something you did. Focus on what you did and what was the motivation behind it. Schools want to know you in your own words, not a journalist's language.

I'd say that if you have extra words, adding a link to a great article is strong back up, as some applicants make up stories about overseas charities and extra curriculars.

I don't see a problem with this type of support, though it can also go on your resume as pointed out.

A number of my clients have provided this type of link and have been accepted, so it certainly did not hurt.
