Q: Recent indicators of weakness in the economy have led consumers to be more conservative with their pressures; so depressed have sales figures been as a result that the government has launched several initiatives to actively encourage consumer spending.

b) the sales figures have been so depressed as a result that
c) as a result, so depressed has the sales been that
d)the resulting sales figures having been so depressed that
e)the sales figures have been so depressed that, as a result

The main idea of first sentence is talking about sales figure, so I think the answer should be e.
Answer: A

"as a result" in E is misplaced. E is out

D is not a sentence

C has verb-subject problem

A and B are left

in this case, gmat prefer normal order. B is correct. There is a similar quesion in OG 10. I do not understand why A is correct

In B, don't it sound like a run on sentence..after depressed, punctuation should occur...
"Native of" is used for a individual while "Native to" is used for a large group

Answer should be either B or A..
I thinks its B, but i did not find any mistake in A except the writing style is little awkward..!
