Divisibility

by cypherskull » Fri Aug 24, 2012 11:15 am
If P, Q, R, and S are positive integers, and (P/Q)=(R/S), is R divisible by 5 ?

(1) P is divisible by 140

(2) Q = 7^x , where x is a positive integer

P/q = r/s => s/q = r/p

1. If P is divisible by 140, then P is divisible by 5. if P is divisible by 5, then R is divisible by 5. SUFFICIENT

2. If Q=7 and P=14, then r/s could be equal to 10/5 or 2/1. INSUFFICIENT.
