Need help on SC question

The computer store said its sales increased much more this year than market experts had projected it to and its success will continue during Christmas if sales continued apace.

A. had projected it to and its success will continue
B. projected them to and its success would continue
C. projected it would and that it will continue its success
D. projected and that it will have continued its success
E. had projected and that its success would continue

Which words are parallel in the above sentence ?

IMO E

"the computer store said" -> Past tense.

So the option should include "would" and NOT "will" ==> A, C and D eliminated.

Between B and E, I selected E since "had projected" is needed.

What's the OA ?

This isn't too hard, imo. The answer, as stated earlier, is E. You have to eliminate A, C, and D right off the bat. The reason stems from the fact that what 'it' is referring to is sales, which can only be paired with plural pronouns such as them. B is incorrect because there is no link between the two thoughts.
