1. If a discount of 20% off the retail price of a desk saves Mark $45, how much did he pay for the desk?

B. $160

$45 is 20% or 1/5 of the original price so the price paid after the discount is 80% or 4/5 of the original price, since we know that 1/5 is 45 we can multiply that by 4 and get 4/5 = 180
