galileo did not invent d telescope,but on hearing ,in 1609,that such an optical int had been made,he quickly built his own device from and organ pipe and spectral lenses

even though galilio did not inventted d tele,on hearing ,in 1609,that such an optical inst had been made,he quuckly built his own device from and organ pipe and spectral lenses..

option 2 is wrong because with did u don't use past form of the verb,over here usage of "invented" in did not invented is wrong and ,moreover, usage of on hearing without but is also wrong because the sentence desires to have a contrast..........
