IMO B

Created.. needs to modify thermometer.
where is used for places.

scale did nto reverse by itself. as in C.

it was rversed to its present form.

my pick is B

I think only the options A and B have complete sentences after the semi colon. So that's our first differentiator. Between A and B , B used the correct modifier "in which" as opposed to "where"(used primarily for places)

I thought that the answer is D but overlooked "reversing" after the semicolon.

The answer is indeed B :)
