Hi,
From(1) : P = 8k+5 = 4(2k+1)+1.
So, when divided by 4, p leaves remainder 1
Sufficient

From(2) : P = n^2+(n+1)^2 = n^2 + n^2 +2n +1 =2n^2+2n+1 = 2n(n+1)+1
n(n+1) is always a product of even and odd number.so, the product is even of the form 2.x
So, P= 2(2x)+1 =4x+1
So, when divided by 4, p leaves remainder 1
Sufficient

Hence, answer D

Cheers!
