a long time ago vs long time ago

Hi All,

Can any one let me know when we need to use "a long time ago" and "long time ago" and why.

Sure. Simple rule:
Never use "long time ago"
You can either use "long ago" or "a long time ago". :)

"Long time ago" is grammatically incorrect.
