gmatscore.com test...scoring ???

by spothupalem » Wed Apr 08, 2009 6:20 pm
Hello,

I took the free test on gmatscore.com.
The scoring system seems convoluted.
Here is how I did

Quant - 23 right 14 wrong 31 scaled score 32% Percentile

Verbal - 28 right 13 wrong 26 scaled score 44% Percentile

And it showed that my score was 430.

This did not seem right.

Has anyone encountered the same problem.
How much should I read into this??

Other test I took, I was making the same number of mistakes but got a better score.

Thank you in advance for your replies

Just my initial impression , but... don't look at the number wrong or right as having anything to do with your score. It is an adaptive test and the score is derived from the difficulty of the questions you get right as well as the ones you get wrong.

I do agree...but the percentiles seem to be too low. Don't they?
Or is this correct?

According to the official score report I got this morning, a scaled score of 26 for Verbal is the 40th percentile. 31 for math gets you in the 30th percentile.
