Best GMAT Prep Class in NYC/NJ

I am looking for recommendations of the best gmat prep class / course in NYC/NJ based on your own experience. I am planning to take my gmat in nov08 and feel a prep class would be helpful. If you can be specific and let me know the course, class coordinator to look for and so on would be great..

I am currently preparing with the help of OG11, kaplan, MGMAT CR, SC & FDP. If you feel prep class is waste of time and money and self study is the best option, then pl do put a note expressing your views. I am eager to know.

I am personally inclined towards the MLIC 5day turboprep

MLIC is the MVP of the GMAT league and I am really surprised that not so many people knows it.

Their prep materials are sp detailed BUT in terms of the quality of the knowledge - it can buy and sell any other books on the market any day!

I am a big fan of MGMAT materials but compared to MLIC...they can't even come close.

Their module for RC is "THE" bible for anybody who wants to learn this section. The oonly problem with its books is the presentation of the materials. IT IS A MESS but a GOOD MESS!

And I am sure you will be extremely satisfied with MLIC 5day turboprep! Please share your experience after the course.

Thanks! I will defn do that.. Was worried that no one had replied to my query that I had posted in the best online community for gmat. you are right, many haven't heard MLIC

The only rave reviews I ever saw (in another forum I joined) for MLIC have been posted by people working for that company.

Allow me to chime in:

In my opinion, the difference really lies in what particular instructor you get. An exceptional instructor who teaches for Princeton Review (for example) is no different than an exceptional instructor who teaches for Manhattan (for example). Sure, the methods in the books might be a little different, the course might be a slightly different length, etc., but the big difference is going to be the person in front of the room.

So, I'd call up each company you're interested in and ask who will be teaching your particular class. Ask what score he/she received, how long he/she has been teaching, that sort of thing. Most companies will also let you sit in on the first day of class before committing. The good news is, in NY, you're spoilt for choice!
