Probability PROBLEM

by Lmircea1 » Sat Dec 06, 2008 7:58 am
Hy guys!

I do not know if 0 can be used for the probabilities problems involving numbers. So if they say an even or odd digit that means that 0 is excluded right? What about when they do not specify this? Can we use it (except for the first digit obviously) ?

0 is an even number. It's neither positive nor negative but it's considered even since it doesn't leave any reminder when divided by 2. But I am not sure if you can use it on probability problems especially on the GMAT, someone more experienced should answer this.

Educated guess: We probably should be able to use it.

Yes, zero has to be used for probability questions if the question demands.

Ex: Probablity of selecting an even number from -5 to 5

As already said, Just kepp in mind that zero is NEITHER positive NOR negative and it is even.
