Break between Issue and Argument Essays?

by vik123 » Tue Aug 12, 2008 3:45 pm
Guys,

I am taking my GMAT this saturday. I have a few questions about the test:

Do we get a break between the Argument and the Issue essays? Ofcourse I mean a break which does not cost me time in the next section.

Is the order of sections always the following:
1. Essays
2. Quant
3. Verbal
This is the case in all the practice CATs I have given (MGMAT, GMAT-prep and Kaplan).

Also within the essays, should we expect a certain order between the issue and argument essays?

What kind of scratch material do we get? Papers or some kind of pads? Do we need to take some pencils and pens?

Thanks in advance,
Vik

yes, about 30-60s while switching to the next part

Correct.

either one could show up first

erasable notepads with thin tip pens. you don't need to erase the notepad, simply raise your hand for a new one. no need for pencils, etc.

Thanks in advance,
Vik

Hi

I have a few more questions

a) Once I'm doing with a section, do I have to click yes/no etc to start or accept a break - or does it begin the break immediately

b) Do I have to indicate to someone ( supervisor / test admin) that I'm going for a break - or can I just get up and walk out?

c) Roughly how much time does it take to sign in etc?

Would appreciate a response

For points 'A' and 'B' above, You will need to notify your test admin to do so. Just raise ur hand to catch ur admin's attention, he she will come to ur seat and help you out.

For 'C', It takes roughly bout 2 mins(both to sign-out and to sign-in). so u will still have good 8 mins in each of the scheduled breaks!

All the best for ur exam.

Cheers!
