Study Plan to get a 600+ in 2.5 Months

by NYC_Kid » Mon Jun 22, 2009 6:51 am
I'm planning to attend the Spring Semester in 10' for my masters and will attempt to take the GMAT by September. Which gives me about 2.5 months to study for the GMAT. So far I've been reading through the Princeton review book and once I finish it, I will take a simulated tests to see my score (if you guys can recommend a good test it would be appreciated.)

Afterward I will be going through the Official Guide 12th Edition. I plan to study about 3 hours on the weekdays and 6+ hours on the weekend. I am a fairly smart student (3.5/4.0 GPA in a top 40 Accounting school) and I did get around a 1100/1600 on the old SAT without any sort of studying. My goal is to get a 600+ and at this point on the GMAT and around 650 to be safe. I would like to know if you could offer any advice. One thing I do know is that my verbal skills are a bit poor and I didn't do so well on that part for the SAT, thus, I will be studying heavily in that part. If you could give me any advice or recommendations I would be appreciative.

Last question, should I buy the Manhatten GMAT books?

I think you will be able to score over 600 pretty easily, especially with 2 months prep. Buy the Manhattan books to be safe. Good Luck.
