What Books??

by Sameera » Tue Nov 18, 2008 4:18 pm
So I just found this site and I've been skimming through it....I read on a lot of study suggestions. But I want to know if using the OG 11 alone will be helpful? I am so confused with all the reviews as to what books are the most useful, for both the verbal and the math. I am looking for books that will focus more on concept. Please help, I need to buy something fast and get started.

The OG is essential but not sufficient by itself. You do need to get a good review book to go over the fundamentals as well as test strategy. And of course you need to do practice tests. I used Cracking the GMAT and would definitely recommend it; the strategies were really helpful and the tests were accurate. You also need to download the official GMATPrep tests from mba.com. Those are a must!

Ditto the recommendation for the GMATPrep tests.

I haven't used the cracking the gmat book, but of what I have used: I found the GMAT Hacks Math Bible to be really useful. I also have Kaplan books that a friend gave to me, and I didn't think those were as helpful.
