better strategy?!

by rajeev4mba » Wed Feb 17, 2010 9:13 am
I've just started the GMAT verbal preparation.
I've got MGMAT SC guide, and i was wondering should i understand the concepts in the guide first and then start with the OG or do the qstns frm the OG that are mentioned at the end of each chapter n then move on to the next chapter.

Thanks

I wouldn't go with either approach. I would try to get a general grammar book and go through that first. After you go through a general grammar book, go through the MGMAT SC guide once, without doing the OG problems. After you go through it the first time, go through it again, and this time do the OG problems as you go through each chapter.

Also u can side by side start posting on btg . check ur answers . get to know why they r right / wrong.get to know different approaches to solve.

Hope this helps :)

I second that osirus....Well the approach is to take a grammer book in simple language...read it carefully (because this is the most important and ratehr quality task)...If u do it in starting of preparation you would enjoy the rest of preparation...surely...
because firstly u will be doing a lesser mistake..and if u do mistakes also u will certainly learn to apply the concept of grammer book....
so first go thru grammer book and then the questions...I have started doing same as I was also week in VR and SC..

wren and martin will be a goof reference book to understand the grammatical rules and other things.

Once you are comfortable with the basic concepts pick up the latest OG and start working on the problems [and keep brushing your grammar via books & online materials]

Once you are done with OG problems - practice more and more SC questions. I would suggest KAPLAN 800 :-)

Is there any link that shows the conversion of the MGMAT SC guide to the OG 11?
