Hi all,
First post here...I started preparing for the GMAT about a week ago and have put together a 2+ month prep plan with a planned test date of April 16. Here is a general overview of my plan, based on a blog by DanaJ:
Week 1: General overview of concepts and baseline practice test
Weeks 2-4: Math Focus
Weeks 5-7: Verbal Focus
Weeks 8-9: Practice Tests and Review of Errors, AWA prep
So I'm about to embark on the start of my math focus. I have gone over a lot of the concepts and reviewed a lot of the math using some old Kaplan software I was given, along with a "Master the GMAT" ebook. Math is definitely my weakness, so I wanted to get some advice on what you all think is the best way to prepare for math. Should I focus mostly on making sure I have a good understanding of the concepts before I get into a lot of practice questions? Should I work backwards by focusing on actual questions and learning how to figure them out, then reviewing concepts? What has worked best for some of you?
Here are the list of books I have:
GMAT Official Guide 10th Edition
GMAT Official Guide 12th Edition
Master the GMAT 2007
McGraw Hill's GMAT 2008 Edition
Kaplan's "Higher Score on the GMAT"
Im hoping to get a few more books from friends as well.
So that's my current situation. Any advice or help with math would be greatly appreciated! I love this site already...hope to talk to you soon!
Dave
