Manhattan GMAT Prep

So after careful consideration and scoring in the 580-610 range on all my practice tests I've decided the next step is to take a prep course in order to crack the 700 barrier. I was looking at Manhattan GMAT prep and they have the online course available with 9 session online for roughly 1K. They also have the self-study plus which is about $800 and offers 9-session online format however it's not a live session it's a prerecorded lecture. You are afford 2 30-minute private sessions versus the weekly ones through the actual course... knowing I'm scoring in the 600 range and aiming for 700+... is it essential that I sign up for the online course or will the self-study method if I follow the syllabus in same fashion as the online live course be sufficient? Thanks!

I would say that the decision depends on how you learn. Do you need to ask questions right then - on the spot? That can save time as opposed to saving up your questions and emailing them or finding the answers yourself.

We have similar options at Veritas Prep and I find that many people are very active in the online class asking all sorts of questions and getting immediate answers. We also offer the sessions recorded so you can be there if you can't be there.

We have had many students succeed with the recorded lessons and you report that at Manhattan that option is cheaper. So it will depend on how you learn as to which of those options work for you! Good luck.

Thanks for the response. After talking with the team there it appears if you purchase a package and need to alter to the online or live sessions they just charge the difference. First practice test score under MGMAT - 620 (made two stupid mistakes on quant that pulled me down a bit). So hopefully the next 9 weeks will get me ready and sufficiently prepared for a 700+! Thanks!
